Sonoria

Sonoria is a multi-dimensional sound installation in contrast with light and in relation to the expressive power of the human body.
It is based on an abstract line developing from darkness, which contains forceful, emotionally charged sound compositions, into carefully designed light, which interprets and redesigns the space.
The performance uses the expressive media of sound, lighting, theater and video in their most subliminal forms: vibration, light, movement, reflex.
The actress's emotional states are expressed through her body, without the use of common words  only by the use of an alien language – Aramaic. The quotations have been chosen from a book by Neil Douglas-Klotz »The Hidden Gospels«. A sentence in this ancient and obscure language was deliberately chosen for the performance. The viewer can thus experience all the vibrational value of human speech without having to rationally decipher the meaning of utterances. Human speech is presented on the level of an abstract element, blending easily with light and sound.
