Cantata of the Spoken and the Seen, is a site specific artwork that calls to everyone passing by the old water tank of the Ljubljana Castle to take time for a deeper look. Casual visitors are invited to glance into the interior of the cistern, where images flowing within assume the very form of the onlooker's reflection. That which sounds and flows, embodied in the derelict cistern, is THIRST: thirst for water, thirst as the primeval yearning, thirst expressed through the voices and interpretations of participants from various cultures.
Cantata of the Spoken and the Seen was created with the assistance of photographer Aleksandra Kajbič, light designer Jaka Šimenc, project development consultant Jana Renée Wilcoxen, sound engineer Felix Andriessens and the numerous coincidental participants who contributed their words and reflections.
